Bogu
‘Bogu’ - referring to the traditional armour used in the Japanese martial art of Kendo. Employing the philosophy of ‘cradle-to-cradle’ design, the brief was to create a durable shell for a remote that could be used ‘infinitely’; whether through recyclability of materials or allowing for internal electronic upgrades over time.
The machined aluminium shell employs a pebble-like form and features a tough, textured surface enabling it to withstand wear and tear over time. Its aerodynamic geometry reminisce of vintage automobiles allows it to be comfortably held and controlled within the hand, while remaining sleek and subtle. A gentle cutaway nests a dual control which is mounted on a low profile rocker for a tactile user experience. To maintain an undisturbed and seamless surface, the undercarriage features a retractable key ring mount which is nestled within the body and kept hidden when not in use.
